"A double-decker bus had its roof completely shorn off when it hit a railway bridge in Essex.

The Regal Busways bus struck the bridge in Duke Street, Chelmsford, at 16:30 BST on Thursday.

Essex Police said officers attended, along with an ambulance which took three people to Broomfield Hospital with minor injuries.

Essex Fire and Rescue said its firefighters attended the scene but took no action.

"AARON Sabbah tried to extort money from a Sydney mechanic he blamed for losing his Mercedes-Benz by threatening him with a large black sex toy, a court has been told.

Sabbah was armed during an attempt to demand money from Michael Monajed, Sydney's Central Local Court was told during a bail application on Friday.

"What is the alleged arm?" Magistrate Eve Wynhausen asked.

"It's a black dildo, your honour," prosecutor Christian Hearn said.

According to court documents Sabbah arrived at Mr Monajed's workshop on April 22.

"Sabbah ... entered the workshop in an intimidating manner with a large black dildo in his right hand, which he was smacking into his left hand continually in an aggressive and threatening manner," the documents state.

Suspect caught after setting fire to neighbor's house for not mowing lawn

"CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -- The Bartow County man accused of burning down a neighbor's house Wednesday morning has been captured.

Phillip Roger Bennett, 58, was taken into custody Thursday by U.S. Marshals in Murphy, N.C. He has since been returned to Georgia.

Cartersville Police Capt. Mark Camp said the suspect faces nearly a dozen charges, including arson, aggravated assault, criminal property damage, cruelty to children, second-degree burglary, reckless conduct, criminal trespass and terroristic threats.

Bennett suffered burns to his hands and arms during the incident and was admitted to the burn unit at Grady Memorial Hospital, where he would stay until Friday.

Camp said on Friday that Bennet would be taken from Grady to the Bartow County Jail that afternoon." (More)

"A Potsdam man is behind bars after being accused of public lewdness at a grocery store in Massena Wednesday night.

State police arrested 41 year old John Allison of 8614 Route 11.

Investigators said Allison rubbed a packaged stick of pepperoni on his exposed penis inside the Hannaford store at the St. Lawrence Plaza.

Police said he then put the food back on the store shelf.

According to police, a Hannaford loss prevention security officer was watching Allison on video surveillance and captured the incident on tape.

In addition to public lewdness, Allison was also charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief because Hannaford is unable to sell the pepperoni.

"WESTERLAND, Germany, May 16 (UPI) -- Celebrity chef Miki Nozawa was killed in Germany during a heated argument with two customers who refused to pay their bill, officials said.

The incident started at Nozawa's restaurant on the German island of Sylt, Suddeutsche Zeitung reported.

Two customers complained that their meals were unsatisfactory and left the restaurant without paying.

Nozawa ran into the customers at a bar. A fight ensued and the customers beat Nozawa.

The chef was brought to a hospital where he later died from injuries sustained during the beating.

Nozawa is known for his Japanese-Italian fusion cuisine and has cooked for Mikhail Gorbachev, Phil Collins and Denzel Washington.

"The suspects are still at large:, the newspaper said. The paper added "Phil Collins still can't wipe his own ass."

"LINTHICUM, Md. (WJZ) � A Baltimore City police officer faces some serious charges after investigators catch him in a prostitution sting, and his alleged partner in the business was his wife.

The FBI is also investigating this case. That�s because the city officer was also charged with human trafficking.

On the Baltimore police force for less than a year, Officer Lamin Manneh now faces prostitution and human trafficking charges.

According to charging documents, he and his wife, 19-year-old Marissa Braun, owned an Internet escort business. That caught the attention of detectives Thursday night.

�They came across this posting where this young woman was posting her services,� said Elena Russo, Maryland State Police.

And according to charging documents obtained by WJZ, she described herself as petite, lovely, sweet and 19 years old.

Detectives asked to hook up at an Anne Arundel County hotel. The escort agreed, and when she arrived, undercover officers say Braun offered them protected sex for $100.

Investigators charged the pair with human trafficking because Braun looked so young:

�In this case, the young girl looked as if she were underage. But when they did identify Braun, she was 19-years-old,� Russo said." (More)

"Up to 20 percent of children in the United States suffer from a mental disorder, and the number of kids diagnosed with one has been rising for more than a decade, according to a report released on Thursday by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

In the agency's first-ever study of mental disorders among children aged 3 to 17, researchers found childhood mental illnesses affect up to one in five kids and cost $247 billion per year in medical bills, special education and juvenile justice.

Children with mental disorders - defined as "serious deviations from expected cognitive, social, and emotional development" - often have trouble learning in school, making friends, and building relationships later in life, the report said.

They are more likely to have other chronic health problems, such as asthma and diabetes, and are at risk for developing mental illnesses as adults." (More)

"This stricken 'roo has every reason to look a bit unhoppy - after breaking her arm in an accident at her zoo enclosure in Munich, Germany.

Keepers brought in vets are noticing that poorly Helena - a red kangaroo - was clearly in pain and cradling her arm.

"She was holding her arm and looked in pain. We knew something must be wrong." said a zoo spokesman.

"After tranqulising her we discovered she had a fracture in her left arm which was reset and covered in a plaster cast."
