Cheap Games
I figured I'd start a new thread for when we find cheap games out there like last September when Portal was on sale.

I found this through reddit:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on sale for $4.99. I just picked it up not sure when I'll play it. But five bucks is right up my alley.

Was reading an article on the possibility of the Minecraft creator financing Psychonauts 2 and some comments mentioned Psychnauts for sale on Steam for $2.99. Must have been a special because it's currently $9.99, but that's a worthwhile price. One of my favorite original Xbox games.

Sheesh. $4.99 for MW2. Amazing how far the prices drop.

I once bought a 2 year old copy of a Madden game at Gamestop for $1.50.

I still think I overpaid for it.

I got Alan Wake for like 20 bucks about 8 months ago, should be even cheaper now. Very cool game.

RepoMan 2012-02-15 11:11

Yeah, Alan Wake is worth whatever price it's at currently.

Madden

Their website says tomorrow it will be released on Steam. no price though, yet.

Looks like $29.99 on Steam, which isn't exactly "cheap" but it's still worth every penny, IMO. Price includes the expansions, also.

A cheap game we played as a kid in Philly was ASS ball.

All you needed was one of those pinky balls you get at the 5&10 and cinderblock wall with some parking space.

You throw the ball at the wall and the next person in the sequence has to catch it after the first bounce off the ground. If you don't you get assigned a letter.

If you're unlucky enough to be the first to get the letters A, S and S, you must assume the position with hands up against the wall and the other players getting three throws at you with said ball.

They could probably make this game for the wii.

I was worried for a minute, I thought this might be another Jerry Sandusky story.

We did the same thing but with hacky-sack. That was our game at lunch time in high school. The person that let the sack hit the ground got a letter. The "ironic" part was that the wall we got stood up against was the back of the chapel.

Amazon Gold Box and Lightning Deals on games today.

Command and Conquer: Free

Edit: I couldn't get it to run on my computer... maybe because I have Win7 and this isn't compatible? Not sure.

I noticed Fallen Earth on Steam and decided to give it a try. It's free. It's like a Fallout MMO with lesser graphics. Lesser, but not bad. And it seems pretty dense with a LOT to learn.

It's free-to-play, so it's free to download and there's no subscription. It looks like they're making money now on in-game purchases, upgrades and whatnot.

Lots of deals on Amazon again.

Just picked up L.A. Noire (bad memories, Repo?) for $4.99...

I'm still shopping, I might pick up a few more for that price.

Edit: Yup, picked up GTA IV also.

Lots of talk on reddit: "does it activate on Steam?" Why is that such a big deal to people?

RepoMan 2012-04-05 9:54

Wow, 4.99?!

Yeah, I still haven't played the damn game... but I did get a nice new Xbox out of the deal.

Pretty cool game, what I did play of it.

RepoMan 2012-04-10 8:19

I guess it kind of qualifies as cheap... $4.99 per episode of The Walking Dead (on the Xbox and PS3, PC/Mac have to pay for the "season" @ $24.95):
