Electricity corner or electroshock therapy for the rest of us
I know Bruno answered this question before the old site blew up, but I got a new (used) dryer that came with a four prong thingy and my outlet is a three prong thingy. Here are the options I came up with: cut off one prong and bend the others so they fit, or find a cord to change out on the dryer so it fits. Updating the plug might be possible but we're drowning in dirty clothes and need something quick. I guess my question is this is changing the plug on the dryer going to burn down my house or electrocute my family?

I think you can swap out 4 prong to a 3 prong cord. My new(new) dryer came with no cord, and I had to get the one that matched my outlet separate. Which I thought was weird but there you go.

You can just hit up home depot or whatever?

Yeah, the homes depots or lowes would have cords, this is a pretty common problem now.
I can walk you though changing the cord or plug but I won't be around later or tomorrow. The googles are pretty good if you're lost. Hey, wait a g*ddamn minute-aren't you a fricken scientist or something? |

He is a chemist... those guys don't know much about things with electricality.

Yeah, I took some physics classes that let me calculate the electric field between two point charges in a vacuum, but for some reason they never taught me about wiring 240 outlets. Luckily I can rely on skills from my 8th grade shop class.
Now, if you want me to talk about the practical aspects of making drugs or explosives My skillset is more useful. |
