Dinner at the hotel on Miyajima, the island with the red tori out in the water, was one of my favorites.

You take what you want, the plates are color-coded by price, and you get it all tallied up at the end. Pretty cool.

I didn't get a pic of the food at this ramen joint, but the ordering system was cool. You select what you want using the push button thing, pay, and go wait for your food to be served to you. Japanese fast food.
