Just before a speech to Manchester Republicans, Gingrich met and pet Isaac, son of the famous Binx the goat. During the 2008 presidential campaign, Binx hit the campaign trail and became a local celebrity, posing for pictures with John Edwards to John McCain. Later Binx was dubbed “The Obama Goat” for favoring the Democrat.

He died last year at 13 years old.

But Gingrich seemed more than thrilled to meet his son, who is kept as a pet. He Tweeted their meeting and posted a photo on Facebook:

While in New Hampshire today, Newt met Isaac the goat, son of the famous Binx the goat, along with his owner Bill Higgins. Binx, as *everybody* knows, stumped for Barack Obama in the 2008 election, so Isaac may be a Democrat as well. Still, Newt did his best to convince him of the case for free markets and limited government. (Isaac said he was "glaaaaaaad" to meet Newt.)
