Dear Uncle Chuck,

I believe that the World series winner should always be a national league team. I can't see myself rooting for the Giants, because, well they are supposed to be in NY and they don't have Willie Mays anymore. I do like that kung fu panda though. The Reds have the old manager from the Giants and that confuses me, but I like rooting for the underdogs. I like the Braves, but don't like the south or the wild card, so again, I'm conflicted. We hate the Phillies, but they are a national team, more conflict.

So, Uncle Chuck, whom should I be rooting for?

I say root for the Reds, why you may ask. Let me tell ya why, we got nothing here in Cincinnati. We have given the world so much like Carmen Electra and Sarah Jessica Parker and asked so little in return...wait that may not be helping my case. Just do it for your Uncle Chuck then.

Cheering for the Reds would be like kissing your sister. I guess that means cheering for the Reds won't be so bad, I mean, since I banged your sister and it was sorta fun.

Doh, forgot 'bout the Philly fans...tell ya what, I'll route for Chucks Reds on Mon, Wed, Fri, and alternating Sundays, and y'alls Phillies on Tues, Thurs, Sat, and the other alternating Sunday. This will get really complicated as fans of other teams chime in.

wow, that article really makes philly fans look bad.

My favorite is when we cheered for Irvin's injury. I remember watching that game from home.

Gapper. Isn't that the extra plastic thing you slide over the tip when the regular preparation H nozzle is too small?

I'm a Blue Jays fan, which means that I don't think I will be able to watch Roy Halladay pitch in the postseason. I wish him well - he was always a class act - but I just can't do it.

In the post-season, I root for whoever is playing the Yankees. When the Yankees lose, I stop watching. If the Yankees win, I am encased in gloom.

Dear Uncle Chuck,

Don't you think you should lay down some ground rules for this thread? I mean people be blabbin' and shit. Ax the question, git yo answer and move on. But that's just me. It's your thread and I guess you can let people piss all over the carpet if you wanna.

Dear BL
We understand the pain of being a supporter or the St. Louis Cardinals and you wanting a new subject. Unlike yourself some of us chose to support winning teams and want to revel in the situation.

Seriously... how does that team suck? The amount of talent there and they are barely over 500. WTF?

Shortstop hit a buck ninety up through June. Third baseman was a solid ROY candidate until he got hurt and missed the last half of the season. Fill in third basemen all hit about .210. Lefty relief had a zero ERA through all star game and then ended with about a 6.0 ERA.

Really what killed was some weird thing where they couldn't hit shitty pitching. A guy would roll in without a win in two months or with an ERA pushing double digits and would shut them down. In St L they call it the Bud Norris club, after the shitty Astros pitcher who never wins a game unless he's pitching against the Cardinals.

Also, it didn't help that Brad Penny pitched like a champ in April but fell apart in May and then pretended to be hurt the rest of the season after cracking a grand slam. He earned just south of a million bucks per game,or $136,364 per inning pitched, which is $45,455 per out recorded. I don't think they're looking to re-sign him.

Dear Uncle Chuck,

I don't think BL's last post was his own. I have a feeling he copied and pasted it from some sports site. What's your feelings on this?

Dear Uncle Chuck,

I walked into an "Ask Uncle Chuck" thread and a sports discussion seems to have threadjacked it.

Should I request the mod/admins move this thread to the sports section, or should I promptly remove that burr from my ass and go with the flow?

I think I know the answer. Also, why are prunes marketed as "pitted plums"?
