Well there is a light/heavy option with dragon armor. Dragon scale armor is only like 25 for all pieces, the dragon plate is 79. I have the lighter version.
OK, got the final smithing perk last night for dragon armor... made some dragon scale armor. IMO the 30 extra weight is not worth it for the couple extra armor points for Dragon Plate. And I enchanted it to fortify an extra 40 or so health points.
Finished up the main storyline. Very entertaining. I thought the ending was pretty awesome. Althought it was a litle anticlimactic as my character is level 51 right now with a 676 armor rating and a daedric mace that does 150 base damage and another 70 points each of shock and fire damage.
Gonna spend some time working on finishing up achievements. I think this is one where I will go for the 100 percent completion.
Max Von Sydow voiceover: And so begins the final epic battle for Skyrim and the rest of... wait, Dragonborn just swung his mace three times and it's over? And I thought my death in Strange Brew was too quick. Oh well. Thus the land of Skyrim has been saved once more and our hero Dragonborn is free to go try to find more of that fucking crimson nirnroot.
The first DLC "Dawnguard" was announced today. Not much more is known except for the name and rumors that it may have something to do with the Snow Elves (Falmer ancestors).
In other news, the Kinect patch dropped yesterday. Here's a link to all the commands (PDF)
I haven't had a chance to play with it, but this is pretty cool:
Quote:
"LOOT ITEMS takes all items from a container whose value-to-weight ratio is greater than or equal to the set loot limit. For example, if the loot limit is 100, an object with a weight of .1 and value of 100, would have a value to weight ratio of 1000, so it would qualify. If the loot limit is 0, only weightless items with value are taken, i.e. gold."
Pretty cool. I'm definitely interested in the Kinect commands. I found the rudimentary commands in Mass Effect useful at times and this is even more full-featured.
Not much interest in the kinect angle here, but I will get the dlc when it comes out. Summer should be the right timeframe to get back into Skyrim.
If you are looking for a good swords and spells RPG in the meantime... pick up the Witcher 2. It is pretty damn awesome. very different from Skyrim, but right up there in the awesome.
I agree that the ending was a bit anticlimactic. I think if I hadn't been over 60th level it might have been tougher. I put a considerable amount of time to max out a lot of areas, and took the time to get 100% trophies on the PS3 so I got the platinum trophy.
I put it down to play Dragon Age: Origins and hop into the DA franchise, which is fun, but of a different class altogether. I heard that some DLC was finally coming for Skyrim so I'm about ready to go back to Tamriel.
I did manage, however, to sneak up on a dragon and kill him with one shot from my bow. That was completey frickin' awesome.
