Bruno got adopted today. He's got him another white Schnauzer (Buddy) to play with that's a year older or so, with a great couple that lives about 2 miles down the road from us.. nice house, big back yard.. Really gonna miss Bruno- He's a remarkably good natured dog. I think our little girl Millas is gonna miss him too. We had him groomed yesterday, but I'll always remember him shaggy and a little smelly as pictured here:

Well, it doesn't happen very often, but it looks like Bruno is coming back to us. The new mom contacted us last night via email, and is having "buyers remorse". I think maybe adopting another dog was something they did on the spur of the moment, and they weren't really ready for 2 little critters in the house. It's not definite- but chances are he'll be back with us before the sun goes down.

Yeah, how can you give back a dog that sits with you and looks at you like that?

Got a new foster dog yesterday. It didn't work out with our dogs this time. We had named him Talon, but we had to turn him over to another foster family. Our male and he just didn't get along, and we don't want any more accidents..

However, we did trade him in for another foster dog... Part Schnauzer and part Wiener dog- We are calling him Craig Ferguson. So far he like to be held. A lot. More pics to come, he's really a beautiful little fella.

Craig is part Schnauzer and part weiner dog? that's a funny combo. But not as funny as the time I found a petfinder listing for (wait for it) a yorkie/german shepherd mix.

This is how I like to imagine the dogs we foster eventually end up. Nice owners, good food, comfy furniture, and lotsa spoonin' with the bitches!

Little Craig Ferguson has been adopted, a really nice retired lady that has another schnauzer- Metup with her at a doggy park yesterday. Gonna miss the little fella.. he's been one of the sweetest little buddies we've fostered.

We've got another one the way- supposed to pick up another foster today at a Petsmart event.

This is Collin. He belonged to a guy in his 20's that recently died, unfortunately. His mom tried to take the dog, but little fella just reminded her too much of her son. He's been very well taken care of and knows a few tricks. He's about 1.5 - 2 yrs old. Very sweet, getting along with our brood really well. Under the circumstances, we decided to keep the name Collin.

Well Frost is coming along quite well after his ACL surgery back on May 24th. The first 3 days he'd not put any weight on it at all, the next 2-3 it was maybe every 3rd step, and now it's almost as if he'd not had the ACL tear at all, well except for the Frankenstein scar on his leg...
Click the image to open in full size.
Next Tuesday he goes in for his 2nd post op appointment, and gets the stitches out. At that point we'll hopefully be able to give him a bit more freedom than he currently has. Humiliating for a dog to wear a leash to go into the fenced back yard.

Collin is doing great. Had one lady interested in him, but it didn't work out because of the situation with her other pets. He's a really good lap dog, and still loves to play- great companion dog. Drags everything around he can get his teeth on.. but doesn't chew stuff. Panchito & Millas get along great with him too. Panchito is doing much better BTW, We've got him on medication now that's settled him down and controls his constant water drinking. He has Cushings. But he's gonna be fine.

Tex, Shadow was diagnosed with Cushings. In her case, though, she has a ton of other stuff going on (kidney failure, liver tumor, pancreatitis, arthritis, blindness) and there ain't much more they can do. I'm glad Panchi was able to get treatment.

And that Colin is way cute.

Shad Roe the Wonder Dog passed away today.

Click the image to open in full size.

She was our first baby. She was smart (dang Border Collies) and knew how to open doors, windows, the sliding door, gates, trash cans, you name it. She was quite the problem solver. And could spell (slow we went to pig latin and then she learned that). And she also knew the names of all of her toys. We could tell her to get "elephant" or "rope toy" and she'd get the right one. She loved the mailman (treat-giver), watermelon, cukes, carrots and peanut butter. She loved swimming and deep snow.

Luckily, we were able to take her to our cabin one last time this past month. We're so glad she got to swim in the lake again, show Bristol how to open the door with her head and get Penn State Ice cream. She loved walking on the dirt road up there and chasing chipmunks. Thankfully, she never found a skunk or bear. Because, ew.

Luke is already asking when Bristol can have a new sister. Ummmmm...
