So I started a little job a couple of weeks ago, finally getting around to putting some pics up! We have a crappy addition on the back of our house; very shoddily built, drafty, etc. It's the only part of the house we didn't really do anything to when we originally renovated the rest of it. Ten years later, it's time.

Found this mouse skeleton behind one of the ceiling tiles I ripped out. That and a couple of pounds of old mouse crap.

I didn't take any before pics, I just kind of started ripping stuff out. Oh, and I bought a sawzall! How did I survive all these years without one? It's awesome. There used to be a single-pane sliding door in the left part of the back wall, and a single-pane window to the right of that. Not anymore!

Siding time! My first time with siding, and it's pretty much a piece of cake. A little tricky getting around frames, but if you measure carefully you're golden. The vinyl stuff is pretty forgiving.
You can see I also had to pull off the gutter and replace the fascia board, as it was pretty rotten.

End of day 2, and pretty much on schedule!

Got 'er closed up just in time... started raining just as I finished. Now on to the interior phase... pics to follow!

The real America not that part where you live.

All hail the Sawzall bought one a few weeks back also, and why I hadn't sooner I have no idea. Anyway, great work NocGuy, your skills continue to impress. Oh in case you missed this from the shoutbox, back when you remodeled the bathroom I showed my wife how it turned out. She says Oh wow that looks great I love that look. I now am expected to duplicate that at my house, thanks buddy :p

Just realized I never got around to putting up "after" pics... here are a few:

Didn't bother filling in the crappy brick holes, just painted 'er. I'm quite happy with the way this turned out... the main objective was to make the room warm and dry (which it definitely WASN'T), and the mission was completely successful. It's now basically an art studio for my 5yo, as well as kitchen overflow and general mud-room for coats/boots/etc.
