Good news and bad news

The good news is my sister very generously gave us her unused desktop and I have access to the Internets again! WOOOO! The bad news is our old desktop is still royally fucked and I lost everything (well, we're hoping at least the photos and mp3s can be recovered.

So. I have this shiny almost new computer and now have firefox again and am hoping y'all would enlighten me and tell me which addons you recommend, since you recommended a bunch before and I don't have access to them to figure it out. I have screen grab, a spell checker and Ad Blocker...what else?

I find fireshot invaluable. I use download helper a lot for videos, it actually works and I don't have to pick them out of the cache. And search preview is kinda nice. Web of trust can be handy too. It's not always right, but it's another layer of protection.

This is off topic, but you might also want to look at http://www.virtualbox.org/ . Set up a virtual system for your kids on that computer so the next time they wreck the system, it's just the sandbox.
