My sister and her friends there have been posting interesting stuff on Facebook, so I thought I'd re-post some here to share.
Right after the big quake
Infographic about the nuclear problems from 3/16/2011. "The angry faces are uranium and the aloof ones are neutrons. The very angry door-like faces are the control rods."
Manhole in Urayasu, outside Tokyo on reclaimed land.
I think that first picture is going to transport the Nimitz back to World War 2.
Nice!
Thanks for posting, Repo. I'm with Chuck, it's easy to handle when there are no people in the shots, but when you see their faces and think about what they've lost, that's when it gets real.
Nice pictures, but for the sake of clarity, I'm going to be the science nazi in here.
The red dots in the fission picture are the neutrons. The aloof smileys are Uranium, and the Angry ones are likely smaller atoms. Control rods are angry doors.
Yeah, it took me a while to be able to play that video. My sister said that right after the tsunami the news kept showing video of a trapped horse and that was hard to watch. Apparently the horse survived, so they said.
I will assume she registered nothing because the radiation was absorbed and made into super powers. Has she tried feats of strength, super hearing or vision or even tried to fly?
This is a real email that was sent from our dear friend and the real-life basis for the Joe is Japanese character, Koga Sato. His email was such a relief to read, as we had not heard from anyone yet after the earthquake. It was inspiring and goofy. So much so, that we felt compelled to illustrate it and pass it on to the world (with Koga’s permission). This email made everyone at the animation studio feel a sense of duty to donate time to make this mini comic.
