The killing distance should be reduced by half or a third for the 1887's.

One neat trick with the 1887's (and all akimbo shottys) after the first shot, the game puts a faint "X" on the screen where you are aiming. You can use that to line up the second shot and finish people off.

I prestiged the other day. Running around with the FAMAS in one match I was able to get the Predator-Harrier-Chopper Gunner combo. Finished 30/6. My point being that even lower level guns can match up with the AK-47.

My Lil Pwny is great, most of them are pretty clever. Here are my favorites:

Finished the campaign on veteran last night. Which is very hard, but not impossible like I found earlier version of the game on veteran. I could never get past a level or 2 of COD4 or World at War. Pretty damn awesome game.

I agree, this Veteran was MUCH more manageable. It was definitely not as frustrating as MW1 and WaW. Though maybe some of it can be blamed on Treyarch in the case of WaW. I did finish MW1 Veteran, but do think that MW2 was much less frustrating.

I noticed the other day that my stats show 19 hours in campaign. So while there were complaints about the length I still managed to enjoy 19 hours of it.

I concur. It may not have been that long (8 hoursish?), but I'm replaying it on veteran now and I probably will againin a couple of months, so what... 24 hours solid entertainment for 40? Bargain!

I can't decide if mp is better or worse with fewer players. I would much prefer some large maps to make sniping a more... well, snipey activity rather than the marksman role snipers play atm. On the other hand the amount of times you get someone running around the back is much reduced, so games are more stable and you can get more of a defense/offense feel rather than ffa, which I like. Also cuts down on grenade spam, which is always good.

I don't like the servers. They're laggy, it can take ages to find a game, and they behave in a decidedly odd way sometimes. I can see what they were trying to achieve, and even appreciate it, but it hasn't worked that well. I'd much rather have the old system with my favourite-ed list of servers I know are good. It's also got to be a huge business cost for them, so what happens in five years when they turn the servers off? Or if they screw up the next game and go bust?

I realised that I haven't played a FPS since MW1 and haven't kept in touch with anyone I used to shoot in the face, so if anyone is playing on the PC hit me up and I'll try and work out what the hell my steam ID is :)

That's interesting to hear about the PC version. I've read about some of those issues. Like here:

http://www.gamearena.com.au/pc/games...php?id=5033868

While there are some occasional hiccups with the 360 version, like getting dumped into private matches or losing party members at the start of the game, I have to say that the 360 multiplayer is generally quite good in terms of networking. Very seldom do I experience lag issues that make the game unplayable.

While Search & Destroy is fun, I rarely get a match without some lag issues.

I have never really had any lag problems. I only ever play ground war though in MP. I will probably be well over 20 hours of campaign play time after I am through with it. Too bad they don't let you play the campaign in coop. I would be fine if they wanted to make that an unlockable after you beat the campaign once with no achievements. Spec Ops is great, but I think being able to play the actual missions as part of a whole campaign playthrough would be pretty cool too.

The CEO is a douche.

Kinda makes me not want to buy activision games. Although I am sure that when they put out Modern Warfare 3 I will buy it on launch day.

Haven't played much MW recently, but that is mostly because of Bioshock. New maps would be motivation to open it up again for sure.

Got the new maps last night. And was highly disappointed because they only were used in the one playlist. Repo tells me that they will be integrated into all of the playlists today though, which is good or I was going to be really fucking pissed.

And there is double exp through the weekend.

Hopefully the douchebag levels will recede to more normal levels.

I should be on this weekend for some gaming. The wife has a cold and a thrown out back, so that generally means early bed times for her. Which in turn means more gaming for me.

Pretty amazing that a brand new map pack has had the exact opposite effect on me than you would expect. I want nothing to do with this game right now because it is so fucking annoying to play. And apparently I am the only person left playing MW2 that has not prestiged at least once. Why the hell are there never, ever any people anywhere even remotely close to my rank level matched against me.

Agreed. The fact that it drove us back to Halo is pretty telling.

Matchmaking really needs help because it obviously doesn't work.

Matchmaking in MW is worse than Halo ever was right now. Matching me against someone with at the max prestige level? That guy went through 70 levels. 10 times. I am at level 52. That guy just has to frown at me and my head explodes.

Got a message from Live thanking me for buying the Stimulus map pack on the first day and that they were adding 7 days to my membership.

I read it as "sorry it was so expensive and made the game miserable."

Here's a good little editorial on DLC in general that brings up the Stimulus Package:

http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/108/1081519p1.html

DLC is obviously a tidy little profit maker for game companies. Why give the consumer everything at once if they're obviously willing to pay extra later? Some companies do it right. The two GTA add-ons were both awesome and arguably even better than the main game. At 1600 points apiece, they were worth every penny. That's not a whole lot more expensive than the 5 measly maps in the Stimulus Package. The more I think about it, the more I feel scammed. In the beginning of my Xbox Live days, I was loathe to pay for maps since I was coming from the PC world of Quake and Unreal Tournament where you had thousands of user-created maps to choose from for free, many of which were even better than those shipped with the game. I eventually resigned myself to having to pay for the maps for the console games, but this most recent experience is certainly a sour one.

Aside from that, there's the deliberately leaving stuff out or locking stuff on the discs. That's a nice big FU to the buyer. Bad Company 2 has DLC already? Like it couldn't have shipped with the game? BS.
