"The way Dallas Police put it, she first passed out, then she ran over her husband, then she tried to flee the scene. Mary Jane Lane, 50, of Balch Springs Texas faces a charge of driving while intoxicated after the accident in Dallas Tuesday.

According to a Dallas Police Report Lane was driving with her husband when she stopped at a red light at Northwest Highway and Ferndale in Dallas. The report says Lane passed out. So her husband Randall Lane got out of the SUV walked to his wife's side, opened her door, and tried to unfasten her seat belt. The report goes on that Lane 'came to' and pressed the accelerator, snagging Randall Lane in the door. Lane was dragged until he fell from the SUV, suffering injuries to his head and both legs.

Police say Mary Lane fled the scene, in violation of a law that requires a motorist to stop and render aid. She was arrested for intoxication assault, although the charge was later reduced to driving while intoxicated.

Mary Lane is in the Dallas County Jail on $20,000 bond. The condition of her husband is not known." - the33tv.com

Hopefully his condition is soon to be "single."

And how many pot references can one story have? Mary Jane Lane? Ferndale?
