Tex! I'm hurt. How is it that you haven't fostered a 'Jassy' yet?

The Woodman has an appointment to meet a potential adoptive family this week. PFC says they are a really nice couple. Woody has really been a wonderful guest in the short time he's been with us. Honestly it's going to be a little harder than usual to give this little boy over to a new family. He's very well trained and we have really hit it off. Not only does he know the commands dance, sit, down, off, outside, etc.. He also won 60 bucks at a Halloween costume party at a local groomer we are friends with. We will at least have him another week, so I plan to spoil him rotten.

Don't worry, eventually we'll get a little girl and call her 'jaz'.

The folks that were interested in the Woodman have adopted another dog.. they called PFC last night. Apparently the guy was a lawyer and his wife stayed at home all the time, and she found one somewhere else. I think it's for the better, Woody needs to be with a family with kids or another dog and they had neither. Plus, dude was a lawyer and that sucks. Good news is that another couple (with a Schnauzer in the family) is interested in him, and they have a cool place in Arkansas, so I think we will have Woodman for a little longer than I thought, but probably not much longer. :(

The Woodman had the best Halloween costume I saw this year!
Congrats to you both on your successes with the pups, Tex and PFC. It must have been heartbreaking, but it warms the heart to think what different lives those pups - and their humans - will have, thanks to your efforts.

Sorry I didn't update... Woodman got adopted last Saturday. I didn't get a chance to say goodbye because I was out all day, but Ginya says his new family is really nice. I am missing him a lot, we really hit it off. he was the best trained dog we have fostered by far...he knew lots of tricks and was very friendly and just a really great buddy to have around... I'm sure he will have a wonderful new life in Arkansas.

Update on former foster, Ash:

Click the image to open in full size.

"..We adopted Ash (now Taz) from MSRNT a little over a year ago. Just wanted to give you an update! Taz and Izzy (our first schnauzer) are best friends. They chase each other all day, play tug of war and then cuddle on the big pillow in front of the fire. Taz has even taught Izzy some manners! Since we last saw you we have bought a house so Taz now has a big backyard to play in and he "patrols" everyday to make sure there are no squirrels. I have attached a few pictures of Taz so you can see him! Thank you so much. We couldn't imagine our home/life with out our newest addition!"

New Schnauzer Rescue:

I didn't realize I hadn't put up our latest foster.. we have had her for a few weeks. She is solid white and in really good shape. Very good natured and loves to cuddle. The white ones are highly valued- she has already been out to visit a great family in Colleyville, and they decided to take her.. on Christmas eve when they get back from a family trip.

We took our latest foster, Marj to her new home tonight. It's delightful to be there to see a family bring in a rescued pet into there lives, especially at Christmas. Marj was a joy to have in our home. She is a very loving dog and we miss her very much- but we wish her a blessed life, and we hope that she and her new family and everyone have a very merry Christmas.

HA!
They wrestle and play fight and nip for hours. They are in lerve, these two. It looks like vicious dog fighting in the picture but in reality it's two puppies (well, one is part horse, we think, he's HUGE) makin' love. I should put up the pic of them licking faces.

This is puppy Bella. We started fostering her a few weeks ago. She's almost full grown and still a handful. Loves to chew everything. We knew she would get adopted pretty quickly- a really nice family got her this last weekend. I think out other dogs are glad she's gone, she was wearing them out. Puppies are a lot more work than the older dogs we have fostered!

New month, New Rescue....

Got a new rescue today, this little fella was removed from a puppy mill with several other dogs. He's very skinny and VERY shy. He is still quite timid around humans- but we think in a few weeks he'll adjust to us. He's spent most of the day getting to know our dogs, Panchito and Millas, and hanging in the extra crate. We are calling him Bruno.

I'm 40 and am still quite timid around humans.

Speaking of the nasty business we just had a mill get busted, 34 counts of animal cruelty-basset hounds and Pomeranians.

2 charged with 34 counts of animal cruelty in Sandusky County case

Lookin' like a much happier pup than the one you initially brought home, who was cowering in the crate. Good work you's guys.

We have a couple "maybes" from the adoption thing this weekend regarding Bruno (One was an older lady, kinda gave me the heebeejeebees, but who am I to judge). Now that Bruno is better normalized, we think he'll find a home pretty quick. Bruno and Marge would have made a great pair of doggy buddies, BTW.
