I see potential for the Nats to improve from year to year, but the O's will never again contend, as long as that asstard Peter (Asbestos) Angelos owns the team. He's even worse than friggin' Redskins owner Dan (the fan) Snyder.

Hehehe, hadn't been paying any attention, but yep, that's about the way I expect the season to go as well for Balmere, and the Nats.

Spring Training stats and standings are pretty irrelevant, but that does line up nicely with the prior comments!

If it's any consolation, GJ, most people are calling for the Jays to finish last in the AL East, not the O's. Sigh. Toronto is basically building a new starting rotation from scratch (though Marcum is looking good this spring).
I won't be able to watch Halladay pitch in a Phillie uniform. Too painful.

So basically, I can expect the Jays to sweep the O's this season. Seems like everyone round here except the Caps, play down to their competition, and for the Redskins, Wizzzzards's, and O's ya gotta dig pretty deep to get to a lower level.

The trick is to get the information to the hitter in a timely manner without getting caught. Another sound reason for pitchers to work quickly (I'm looking at you Yankees and Red Sox).

I mean the textbook definition of pencil dick.
We only watch the marlins because it's all we can get for free. But this Loria is such a colossal asshole, with one of the lowest payrolls in the game, he can't understand why teams like the Rangers kick Marlins ass. I imagine this weasel as the kid in school that everyone picked on, but couldn't beat up because his father would put you in jail.
I have always hated the marlins, and who ever owned them. We watch mainly because the on air talent is pretty funny. I would be done with all baseball, but I don't think the family will turn off the tv. I am sick of this stupid shit. And doing it in front of a series with a team that is 19 and 51, just fucking low class. Like when the mets fired Randolph by email in the middle of the night. Or when Loria fired Girardi, that bum has never done a thing since. I hope Freddie goes back to the braves wins a ring, and takes over the team. And beats the marlins to a pulp every time they play. Fuck baseball!

I'm just glad they are 7 games up on the cardinals!
So, on the marlins game the other night, the ump takes a foul shot off the nuts. Came right up off the plate like a cock punch from a midget. The announcer say, "that'll ruin your saturday night plans".
On the 3 hours delayed game the other night, they were discussing christina hendrix around 1am.

I still fondly remember the '84 World Series, Detroit and San Diego, I'm guessing it was Terry Kennedy behind the plate for the Padres and he called a pitchout. But the pitcher missed the sign. Kennedy jumps out of the way, and here comes a fastball down the middle, right into the ump's nuts. He very understandably doubled over and you could almost hear him going "OOOOOF!" through the TV. Can't remember seeing that scenario before or since. I was watching it in a dorm with about 7 other guys and we all fell off our couches, literally ROFL.
Cincy fans: I was at the Giants game last Wednesday when the Reds inexplicably squandered a 9-run lead in the 5th, only to see the Giants fuck up their own 10-run rally and still lose the game in the 12th. It was a thing to see.

They still show that umpire nut shot at every Padre home game.
RE: Cincy -- Shit like that is why we need a do over for the last couple of weeks. Letting things stand as they are is a travesty.

The Cards can still get on top if the win about 75% of the remaining games. Now if you believe they will make it step over here and lets talk a little bet.

The marlins are cursed! That's what the get for firing their manager and some of the fan fav players. But that douche (morgan) should be in for the phillies games. I'd really like to see him take the field there after beaning a fan with a ball. I hope they sue his ass off.

I was following the no-hitter on ESPN's play-by-play from about the sixth inning on, but didn't want to jinx him by watching.
As somebody put it on a Blue Jays fan site this morning: "Now you know, America. Now you know."

Reds will be back next year, they have a ton of talent.
Now if we can get Oswalt pitching like Halladay and Hamels, the Phils will be a real tough out.

The Reds had a great year, but I wouldn't count on a repeat next year.
